Provenance

Raymond Spencer Company Ltd, Hertfordshire, England;
Collection of: Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Deal. Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Deal began collectingart in the late 1960's and continued their acquisitions of sculptureand paintings over the next 30 years. In 1989, the Deal collectionwas named one of the Top Ten Art Collections in the world by Artand Antiques Magazine. Mr. Deal served on the DMA board from1984 to 1989 as Chairman of the Acquisitions Committee. In the early 80's the Deals began collecting drawings by 20th century artists and in 2005 donated this significant collection of 125drawings to the DMA.
